How do I download a YouTube video as MP4?

What is the highest quality?
The highest quality is 1080p Full HD, when the video was uploaded in that resolution. If a video only goes up to 720p or 480p, only those options are shown. We don't offer resolutions higher than 1080p.
Why are the file sizes so different?
A higher resolution holds more detail, so the file is bigger. A 1080p video can be several times the size of the same video in 480p. Each card shows the real size, so pick 360p or 480p when you want to save space or mobile data.
Can I download Shorts as MP4?
Yes. Paste the Shorts link and you will see the vertical frame in the preview. Choose a resolution and save it like any other video. The MP4 keeps the tall format, so it looks right on your phone.
How long does it take?
The list of qualities usually appears within a second or two after you paste the link. When you tap a quality, the file opens straight away in a new tab. There is no waiting in a queue and nothing to install.
Where is the video saved?
Press and hold a resolution and choose Download link (or Download Linked File on iPhone). On Android and computers, the MP4 goes to your Downloads folder. On iPhone and iPad, it is in the Files app under Downloads, and you can move it to Photos.
